Excess damp in homes can cause many problems. It can cause damage to the bricks, stone or wooden frames as well as creating ideal conditions for mold, mildew, bacteria and insects to flourish.

A dehumidifier works by removing moisture in the air which it circulates around the room. This moisture condenses and collects in a special bucket or container that can be emptied when full. Many models also have an hose, which can drain into an external drain, negating the need for remembering to empty buckets.
